Delivery trip

A good friend has just asked me to help him deliver a motor home and I have agreed after having my arm severly twisted. This is a Cummins powered luxury coach chassis based 26 foot "land yacht"

On April 5th we fly from Kamloops (4 hours drive from home) to Phoenix Arizona via Calgary Alberta. Thence to Sun City about 45 minutes drive away to collect the bus. Next day we set out to return to Horsefly 1687 miles away taking in Las Vegas and Reno en route. Arizona, Nevada, California, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. It should be fun?

Shopping trip

"Her Indoors" decided that it was time for a new kitchen so, after much planning on the Ikea web site we set off for the nearest Ikea store to buy all the units.

I know, you are asking why I'm bothering to put a shopping trip on here?? Well here are the statistics:

The nearest Ikea store to us is in Edmonton Alberta which is on the eastern side of the Rockies, we are on the west. Shopping in Canada in the winter is not for the faint hearted

North to Alaska and beyond!!

We have just finalised planning a trip to the Arctic and Alaska in 2011. We will be pulling our 5th Wheel in company with another couple driving a similar Dodge pulling a travel trailer (caravan). Departure date is the 10th July and we expect to be on the road for between 4 and 6 weeks. One highlight of the journey will be driving the Dempster Highway which links Whitehorse in the Yukon with Inuvik which is in the Northwest Territories on the Arctic Ocean coast North of the Arctic Circle. The journey is timed to bisect the migration route of the Porcupine Herd, the world's largest Caribou herd as it moves Westwards to summer calving grounds.
