One more step forward

I set out today with great ambitions but I hit a few snags.  Still I did manage some progress and the end is now nearer than ever>

IMG_1869 One thing that took a lot longer than expected was finishing the wiring.

In the event that I managed to flatten the auxilliary battery I wanted the facility to run the fridge from the ‘front’ battery whilst the ‘rear’ battery charged.

The only way to do this was to install a changeover switch.

The only suitable switch I could find was a bit ‘heavy duty’ but it was the only one I could find.

This was fitted in the hatch and allows me to run the ‘rear circuits’ from either battery, or both, with the turn of a switch.

The C-Tek unit will still charge the rear battery even when the switch is changed over.

IMG_1873 The final part of the electrics was to install the socket for the fridge.

Because of bad planning (I should have done it earlier) I had to remove the rear unit and the wall panel.

IMG_1871 I also fixed the cargo rails in readiness for securing the Thule and camera bags.

Tomorrow I aime to finally secure down the ‘lids’ and build the upper shelf.
