Yes we're trying again.

We have just confirmed our plan to travel with Atlas Overland again on a re-run of our recent, failed tour.

We shall depart home at 09:00 on 5th October, cross to Morocco on the 9th, returning to Spain on the 22nd.  We shall then travel up through Portugal, via Gibraltar, catching the ferry on the 27th and arriving back home on the 29th.

 

Now, what could possibly go wrong.....................

Firstly a big thank you to everyone for your messages of support and good wishes both through the website and directly.
Belinda and I are both now in the UK. Belinda was repatriated directly to a local hospital yesterday and I came off the ferry this morning.
She is much better and well on the way to recovery.

Belinda will be in hospital for a few days but the prognosis is good and she is much better today.
Knowing this Alan & Morag have now, at my insistence, set off to join the rest of the group in Morocco.
Depending on how things go, we hope to meet up again when they return to Spain.
They now have the spot tracker on board so that I can see where they are, if I need them.
I'm looking forward to sharing a few stories over a dram when they get back.

It is with regret that due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be travelling any further.
Belinda has become very ill and is in hospital, depending upon what happens in the next few days we may go on or return home.

We left port bang on time and met up with most of the group for a chat and a drink before retiring to our cabins.
The bunk beds (yes I did say bunk beds) were narrow but pretty comfy and we were asleep in no time.
Breakfast was a reasonable fry up and they even toasted Belinda's bread for her so we both ate well.
Today has been mainly spent sitting, chatting and drinking coffee.
The scenery is a bit get and shrouded in mist. The route we are following is too close to shore for any whale watching but the conversation is almost making up for it.
We will be arriving in Spain at 06:30 tomorrow so my next entry will probably be at our campsite near Caceres.
