So, what was the damage?
Well, in the end the car needed a new front propshaft and rear rubber donut. because it had to be removed anyway I also had a new UJ fitted on the rear prop. This means that the whole drive train has been overhauled which gives me a warm feeling.
I went for a genuine LR donut and GKN UJs and propshaft rather than the cheaper other brands.
The ride home was much smoother with hardly any vibration.
I could have done without the £250+ bill but it was better that they failed here rather than somewhere more remote.
Tomorrow we shall be packing to go to Stoneleigh for the weekend to test the camping equipment. Hopefully we will meet up with Peter from Atlas Overland to chat about the trip.
