The countdown is getting shorter and (thankfully) so is the list of outstanding jobs.
Today started with removing the mattress and sheets from the tent in order to treat the mould that had appeared because of the leaking tent cover. The first hiccup was when I found that the zip on the tent cover was jammed.
The sheets were treated with a mixture of lemon juice and salt, dried in direct sunlight and then washed. Virtually all the stains have come out.
The rest of the day was filled with little finishing off jobs.

I fitted a quick disconnect fitting into the gas line. This will allow me to store the cooker away much tidier than before. The fitting cost £10 from the local camping shop. |
The next job was fitting the replacement solar panel on the passenger side and tidying up the 'electric' shelf. The inverter was mounted below the shelf and a '4 gang' extension mounted on the panel. This will be used for all the camera and battery chargers which will sit nicely in the net pocket below. The 4 way 12v socket was secured down and all the cables to the fridge routed through the centre gap and tidied. |

The other cable visible is the remote lead to the 3rd solar panel. I have now acquired 3 panels. 2 are mounted behind the rear windows and I have left a 'flying lead' which allows me to connect as many as I like with a simple push connector. The panel on the passenger side will be obscured to some degree by the awning, when it is open so the addition of a 3rd panel which I can position for best effect (possibly on the bonnet, roofrack or on top of the awning itself) will provide maximum charging. The 3rd panel also comes with a set of crocodile clips so I can use it independently on the starter battery rather than the auxilliary if I need to.
The final job was to drain the water jerry can and fix the small syphon pump with a bit of silicon. I have also drained the main water system with a view to refreshing all the water in there before we leave. |
