"No man can live this life and emerge unchanged. He will carry the imprint of the desert, the brand which marks the nomad; and he will have a yearning to return. For this cruel land can cast a spell which no temperate climate can match."
Wilfred Thesiger, Explorer.

It's been a while

As the title says, it's been a while.

With working away and using a computer all day the last thing I was keen to do was spend time tapping away in the evenings as well.  Still my readers were waiting so I couldn't disappoint for too long.

There has been a fair bit of progress since my last post with some essential maintenance (detailed here) a full underbody clean and waxoyl (detailed here) and further mods to the rear storage (at the end of this article) and water system (at the end of this article).

I have plenty more updates to write about such as the mods made to the roof tent, the brake system upgrades, the new sat nav system, the battery upgrade and the new upper shelf.

In addition there are a few more plans for the next few months including cruise control and further work on the brakes.

we bought a few goodies at Billing in July which I am to write about eventually.  We camped, this year, with Alan & Morag and Nick & Karen from the Tunisia trip.  It was also good to catch up with Ian & Terry and Peter from Atlas Overland.  We will all meet again on the ferry in March.

Speaking of ferries these are now booked from Portsmouth to Santander, outbound and Bilbao to Portsmouth return.  We will be extending our return journey to include a little jaunt into the Algarve and experience the Easter Fiesta in Spain.

There is now, only, 156 days before we leave for Morocco, which equates to 22 weekends for me to finish any further preparations.  Bearing in mind these weekends also have to cater for DIY, gardening, family, friends and the odd bit of relaxing, that's not really that much time.

I seem to remember think that 156 days was a long time when we were counting down for Tunisia and in the blink of an eye it seemed it was over and we were on our way home.

I shall aim to update the site more regularly.  With over 10400 hits and 30-40 visitors every day I need to keep my audience staisfied.
